Thanks, as always, for your work. With regard to the models, a thought struck me while driving down 2nd Ave by the Olympic Village - the north side is developed in what will likely be a realistic version of what is being proposed on Broadway (i.e. the way developers build with all the details people have criticized your models for lacking). The south side, however, is largely single storey or not recently redeveloped. If someone was able (I'm not experienced at modelling) to copy an image of the north side to the south, I think it would fairly represent the potential outcome on Broadway since the streets are similar. I would also suggest it would be quite shocking and close to what you and Stephen have created. Just a thought...

Is there a plan, really? Or is it a developer free for all? I’ve seen no responsibility for the excessive doubling of land prices which drives housing up. Everybody talks the talk about affordability by green lighting more structures, but I see nothing that suggests the largest part of the population will be able to actually afford any of it. I can see that increasing density of units per sq ft of land base by going up is reasonable to a degree, but I find the proposed new 850 foot towers in Burnaby’s Metrotown area a bit extreme.

Brian Palmquist - so glad you are doing the work! I agree with you - WHAT IS THE RUSH! Why weren’t we privy to this info during lockdown when we could have given more of our undivided attention to our fair city’s future? 🙃

It's not a plan. I have a master's degree in urban design and planning. There is no plan.
